The Chicken Gyro is simple to make on a breathtaking camping road trip from Edmonton to Kelowna and is healthy to eat too! Keep the food that doesn’t require any cooking in a cooler readily available to assemble.
Cooked chicken from Save On Foods makes adding protein to your meal easy. Buy naan bread with chives and garlic to add flavour. Put lots of vegetables of different colours on your naan bread to create a vibrant and healthy meal. If you want a different taste, add peppers, spinach and carrots. Pick the items you prefer to eat and omit the food you don’t like. Depending on what you prefer to eat, the meat can be switched out. Salmon or tuna gyros would be good too or any other meat you want. It can also be removed for a vegetarian or to make a vegan option. Adding vanilla yogourt to the sauce adds taste.
After a long day of hiking near Nordegg on the Siffleur Falls trail, this is a quick recipe to make for you and your partner. There’s enough food for two people. If you want to eat it an additional night and have leftovers, bring additional groceries with you.
The chicken gyro is a wonderful lunch meal after a morning of kayaking on Revelstoke Lake! It’s filling and the recipe can be cut in half depending on how hungry you are. You can also add additional items too if you’re feeling hungry.
