Dip is a classic at a party and can be made festive by adding a cut-up olive spider to it to make it creepy. Spooky deviled eggs and a pumpkin-shaped cheese ball will excite any crowd. Serving Jack O’ Lantern Peppers with a chicken bean recipe is creative and nutritious. The Monster Mash makes a nice treat as an appetizer or to eat after supper and the graveyard pudding for dessert is fun to serve and devour.

Spooky Deviled Eggs
The delicious spooky Deviled Eggs are from My Heavenly Recipes. Boil ten eggs for fifteen minutes. Wait for them to cool off by exchanging the boiling water for colder water. Once they are cool, take a spoon and crack the shell lightly to create cracks but not enough for the egg white to fall off.
Next, place the eggs in the purple dye.
Tip #1: Put a few drops of blue and red food colouring in a bowl and test to see if the result is purple. You might need more drops of one colour instead of the same number for each colour.
Once you’re satisfied with the purple colour, dip the eggs in the purple food colouring and transfer to a different bowl.
Tip #2: Only let them sit for a few minutes instead of letting the eggs absorb the liquid for thirty minutes in the fridge, as the recipe suggests. Leaving them in the food colouring causes the eggs to turn super purple and once placed on a plate, they dripped purple liquid. You want some colour to make them spooky but not dripping wet.
Green Egg Mixture
Cut the eggs in half. Remove the egg yolks from the middle of the eggs and place them into a bowl. Add mustard, mayo and a couple of drops of green food colouring.
Tip: Mix ensuring there aren’t any clumps. The remaining clumps will make it harder to pipe the mixture as some big chunks could come out all at once. The presentation won’t be as nice and you could end up with lots of egg mixture in one bite.
Put the mixture into a piping bag or a Ziploc bag (cut a small hole in a corner) and fill the egg whites with the green mixture. Chill for an hour before serving. They taste better served cold rather than warm. Share with your guests at the party and enjoy! They are fun to make and people tend to like this recipe.
Spider Dip
I based the dip on my mom’s six-layer dip which includes refried beans on the bottom layer, followed by cut-up avocado and sour cream on the third layer. Mild salsa is added with cut-up tomatoes and peppers. Sprinkle marble cheese on top.
Tip #1: Add tomatoes on top of the salsa to give the dip extra juicy tasty tomato flavour.
The spider dip design on top of the six-layer dip is courtesy of the Tipsy Housewife.
Tip #2: Put the sour cream in a Ziploc bag (cut a small hole in a corner) and squeeze it out to make a spider web on top of the dip. Otherwise, it will be hard to design.
Cut up black olives to make a decorative spider on top. Place olives on the edge of the bowl to add contrast to the white spider web and to add extra flavour. It helps bring everything together. Chill in the fridge for one hour before serving with tortilla chips. It’s a super easy recipe to make and delicious. The spider adds a nice touch to this cute Halloween dip.
Jack O’ Lantern Peppers
The Jack O’ Lantern Pepper recipe is from Everyday Jenny. The recipe suggests four bell peppers with your choice of colour (I picked orange for Halloween). I incorporated cooked chicken into the recipe to make the meal more satisfying and cooked rice in my rice cooker.
Tip #1: Make more than four bell peppers to share with your friends, otherwise you’ll need to cut them in half. If you make extras, you’ll have some additional food to eat for leftovers.
Tip #2: Cut out different Jack O’ Lantern patterns in the peppers to make them festive and exciting for Halloween.
Jack O’ Lantern Peppers are healthy, easy to make, filling and a fun Halloween party treat to eat.
They can be made on a nice weekend getaway for a satisfying meal after a gorgeous hike to Laughing Falls.
Pumpkin Cheese Ball
The pineapple cheese ball is my mom’s recipe. To make it follow these directions:
- put two 8 oz (225 g) packages of cream cheese into a bowl
- add 1 cup of well-drained crushed pineapples
- add ¼ cup finely chopped celery or green pepper
- add 1 tsp of chopped onion
- mixed to make a ball
Coat the pineapple cream cheese ball in cheddar cheese as mentioned in the Country Cook‘s recipe. For the pumpkin design, put four elastics around it to create a bulge on the sides to make the pumpkin shape. This recipe suggests putting the top of a pepper on the ball to make it look like a pumpkin. I didn’t have one, so I used a chip instead.
I placed crackers around my pumpkin cheese ball for people to dip their crackers into the cheese. Pick the type of crackers you like to eat. These Ritz crackers blend nicely onto the plate. If you like cheese, this is a delicious, easy and fast recipe to make. It’s festive and awesome to bring to a potluck.
You can also bring it on a picnic at Pyramid Lake for a healthy snack to eat.
Halloween Party Treats Monster Munch
The Monster Munch is from A Pumpkin and a Princess. To make this super easy and delicious recipe, place wax paper on top of a cookie sheet and spread the entire ready-to-eat popcorn on it. Spread four handfuls of Reese’s Pieces and candy corn on the popcorn.
Tip #1: Reese’s Pieces don’t melt as I found out. I melted chocolate chips in the microwave instead. Put it in the microwave for one minute at a time and then stir. If you cook it all at once, it tends to burn. Stirring it often also allows you to see how much longer it needs to be warmed up.
Place the softened chocolate in a Ziploc bag and cut off a corner of the bag for easy spreading. Don’t cut off too much, otherwise, the chocolate will run excessively out of the bag. Create zig-zags until most of the pan is covered and the chocolate is used up. Wait until the chocolate is solidified and then serve. Place in a container to preserve the freshness for as long as possible.
Tip #2: These candies were chosen for their Halloween colours. If you don’t like these, feel free to choose the candies you like.
The nice thing about this treat is that you only need to take a small amount if you’re feeling full. You have the option to take the popcorn that isn’t covered in candy if you want to limit the sweets or devour all the ingredients if you’re looking for a guilty pleasure.
Graveyard Pudding Halloween Party Treats
The graveyard pudding is courtesy of My Name is Snickerdoodle. I bought the plastic cups from Save-On-Foods. The first layer is a crumbled-up Oreo.
Tip: If you don’t have a food processor, crumble up the Oreos with a hammer (not too aggressively). Use two rows of Oreo cookies (without the white filling) to fill up six plastic cups.
Directions
- Put the four-person chocolate pudding pack and two cups of milk into a bowl to blend for a couple of minutes until it thickens.
- Divide the pudding in half and place it into six different cups. Keep the remainder for later.
- Place more Oreo cookie crumble on top of the pudding.
- Top off the cups with the remaining pudding left in your bowl.
- Place your preferred gummies on top of the pudding.
I bought the pumpkins and gummy worms from Bulk Barn to make it more festive for Halloween. The Monaco cookies have the perfect look for tombstones when R. I. P. (rest in peace) is written on them with an edible marker. It’s the perfect delicious treat for a single-size dessert for an adult. They are so cute and easy to make, they will most likely be trendy at your party.
Tip: To ensure everyone gets a taste (depending on your party size), I suggest you double or triple the recipe.
Final Thoughts
These Halloween Party Treats are so much fun to make for an adult party. There is a large assortment of tastes and colours for appetizers and desserts. The best part is that they are all so easy to make. They have a nice festive twist on them to attract guests to the food table with their vibrant designs and colours. They aren’t too weird either so there is no need to fear that they won’t get eaten. Go have fun and pick what you’d like to make for your party. Don’t forget your costume to tie everything together to enjoy the best party ever.
