The winter hike to Marjorie Lake in Jasper was a gorgeous walkable area. We had never been there before and enjoyed discovering a new section of trails. Even though we were in the forest, we saw views of the mountains through the trees. It was a relatively easy hike allowing us to exercise outdoors in nature. We were fortunate to experience lots of snow during our hike, making exploring in winter wonderland fun. I felt like a kid again making snow angels in the deep snow. Marjorie Lake was beautiful with a light dusting of snow.

Beautiful Mountain View
We started the winter hike to reach Marjorie Lake in Jasper on 3e and continued on the number 3 trail. Returning, we hiked on number 3 to complete the loop. It’s a gorgeous walk with a beautiful view of the mountains. Mountains could be seen throughout our entire hike even though a few trees were blocking our view. Sometimes, side paths would lead us toward the edge of a hill to see the entire length of the valley. We took every chance we could to see unobstructed views.
The mountain to the far left in the above photo features the Jasper SkyTram that showcases multiple valleys of the region, once you’ve reached the top. You can save a bit of money if you choose to go early in the day or late in the evening, at a rate of $53.60/adult.
Snowy Trail
We made a narrow trail through the snow with our footsteps. The trail has a bit of uphill and downhill to keep the excitement and heartbeat up but easy to hike.
Tip: Make sure you have winter boots such as Olang Parigi 2.0 Spike Boot to keep you warm while hiking if you encounter lots of snow as we did. You’ll also want to ensure that your boots go up past your ankle to prevent snow from entering your boot. Wearing MEC Kokanee Gore-Tex Gaiters might be a good idea as well as they will prevent snow from rising up your pant leg and keep the snow out of your footwear.
